Using a Joggle, at the interface of 2 panels, instead of a butt strap can provide significant weight benefit by
reducing fastener count by 50% and eliminating the need for the butt strap. However, if the parent structure to
be joined are composite, the joggle induces inter-laminar tension and shear stresses on the structure that need
to be assessed for structural integrity. Below is an example of the stress and strain tensors at the joggle section.
